  1. Week 2 Reading Rhetorically Questions?

  2. Writing Activity Consider a community that you belong to where you feel that you can quickly catch the drift of an in-progress conversation (i.e. other triathlon athletes, or regulars on World of War Craft, attendees at a Star Wars Convention). What are some of the “hot topics” of conversations in this communities? What might exclude someone from these conversations? If you wanted to address a general audience about this issue, how much background information would you need to supply? How would you assert that you are an expert or knowledgeable enough to join this conversation?

  3. Jeopardy!!!!

  8. Homework • Bring this to class next week HANDWRITTEN! • Choose one of the three articles that you have read last week for homework (The New Sovereignty by Shelby Steele pg450, My Pedagogic Creed byJohn Dewey pg460, The American Scholar by Ralph Waldo Emerson pg468) • Create an outline for this article. This outline must be ½ a page to a page long minimum, but no longer than 2 pages. • This outline should include the large points/arguments of the article, as well as large details that are included. You can be as detailed or undetailed as you wish, but this assignment will help you conduct BA2 next week.
