  2. “Action Fraction” • Targeted to around a 3rd grade level audience • Content area: math • Students learn how to add and subtract fractions with like denominators. • Student are faced with these problems and if answered correctly, their race car moves on the track towards the finish line.

  3. Unique Program Features • Uses a timer to determine how fast you answer the questions • Uses a visual representation of race cars to show how “fast” you move with the problems

  4. PROS • uses entertaining game to provide fraction help • challenges students to add and subtract fractions quickly and accurately

  5. CONS • Sounds of the race car may be bothersome in the classroom environment • the timer aspect may cause anxiety for some students

  6. MY OPINION • I would utilize this game in my classroom after teaching a lesson on adding and subtracting fractions. • This is an effective way to entertain and educate students while keeping them on task. • It should be used as an assessment tool, not the actual lesson.
