  3. Installing X-Media Player Click on ‘Start’ and ‘Run’. In the run command text box type \\x-media\c$ and click ‘OK’. A pop up window will appear asking for a Username and Password. Username = jayex Password = jayex6222 N.B All letters in lower case. Double click on the ‘Jayex Install’ folder. Double click on the ‘X-Media 2.0’ folder. • Double click on the X-Media Player as this needs to be installed first.

  4. The Setup Wizard will begin, click on ‘Next’. • Select where the Media Player Folder is going to be installed (this will default to your C:Drive). • Make sure ‘Everyone’ is selected, then click on ‘Next’.

  5. Click on ‘Next’ to confirm installation of X-Media Player Version 2. • The X-Media Player will now install.

  6. A pop up box will appear during the installation, click ‘OK’ to continue. • X-Media Player has now been successfully installed. • Click on ‘Close’ to exit.

  7. Installing X-Media Manager Click on ‘Start’ and ‘Run’ (from where X-Media Manager is going to be install i.e Reception PC). In the run command text box type \\x-media\c$ and click ‘OK’. A pop up window will appear asking for a Username and Password. Username = jayex Password = jayex6222 N.B All letters in lower case. Double click on the ‘Jayex Install’ folder. Double click on the ‘X-Media 2.0’ folder. • Double click on the X-Media Manager as this needs to be installed first.

  8. The Setup Wizard will begin, click on ‘Next’. • Select where the X-Media Manager is going to be installed (this will default to your C:Drive). Make sure ‘Everyone’ is selected, then click on ‘Next’.

  9. Click on ‘Next’ to start the installation of X-Media Manager. • X-Media Manager will now be installed.

  10. When X-Media Manager has been successfully installed click on ‘Close’. • The X-Media Manager and X-Media Player icons will appear on your desktop. • You are now ready to start using the X-Media Manager and create your Layouts.

  11. Starting up X-Media Manager • Double click on the X-Media Manager icon from your Desktop. • You will need to find players on the network to connect to, click on ‘Find Players’. • This will search the Network for Players and list them below.

  12. You can add a description against this player (e.g Reception), high light the player and in the ‘Description’ box re-type the name you want to connect to and click ‘SET’. • If unsuccessful in finding Players, you can add them in manually. • Click on ‘Add New’. • Type the name of the player (X-Media Machine name or IP Address) and click on ‘Add’. You can change the description and then click on ‘Set’. Click on the red cross to close. • Select the X-Media Machine you wish to connect to (if there is more than one). You can set this player as a default by ticking the box.
