  1. The Italian Grid Infrastucture in We-NMR We-NMR The objective of WeNMR is to optimize and extend the use of the NMR and Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) research infrastructures through the implementation of an e-infrastructure in order to provide the user community with a platform integrating and streamlining the computational approaches necessary for NMR and SAXS data analysis and structural modelling. WeNMR builds on the established eNMR e-Infrastructure and its steadily growing virtual organization, which is currently the first largest VO in the area of life sciences. WeNMR has recently become the first Virtual Research Community officially recognized by EGI. It aims at consolidating the operation of the current services and extending them to interoperate with other worldwide grid initiatives. It involves researchers from around the world and aims at building bridges to other areas of structural biology. www.wenmr.eu - www.italiangrid.org IGI in We-NMR IGI, through INFN, has contributed since the beginning to bring the bio-NMR community into the grid world by providing: • training on grid middleware and support for grid deployment at the NMR laboratories; • coordination of grid operations and support for porting NMR applications to grid; • large computing resources from 6 INFN national centers hosting the core grid services for the VO; • dissemination and outreach towards the e-Science community; • links with EGEE, EGI, EMI and other international grid initiatives outside Europe.
