  1. Evangelizing Is Not A 4-Letter Word Developing events and ministries that reach families!

  2. Evangelizing Is Not A 4-Letter Word Beginning with an anointed strategy originally worked out by an energetic team of leaders from Denver, Colorado, we will examine a vision built around discovering effective outreach ministries that reach into your neighborhood. Later on, this philosophy of evangelism was fleshed-out and further developed into an over-riding mission and purpose for the Lynnhaven Community Church in Phoenix, Arizona. It has since been personalized and better refined for many other growing churches that are evangelizing their communities.

  3. Evangelizing Is Not A 4-Letter Word! After several years, city officials from the mayor to the sheriff, from school principals to neighborhood watch groups, referred to our church as the catalyst to positive change in our community. Building a family-friendly church requires more than just an attractive slogan; the focus and vision must create a family-friendly environment around your church. More than twelve ministry departments were organized within five years that began to have growing evangelistic impact on hundreds of families. Each week, more than 400 families were presented the living-gospel through one of our contact points of ministry.

  4. Developing events and ministries that evangelize families!

  5. Seven Key Components to Evangelizing Families Build with a Vision Build with a Developing Team Build with an Attitude of Partnership 4. Build with a Priority on Children and Youth 5. Build with the Consistent and the Splash 6. Build with Celebration 7. Build with Family Glue

  6. Build with VisionPlan and design who, what, when, where, why and how you will reach familiesEnvision how your church will address key questions so it isn’t just a fleeting dreamMobilized and motivated to see it as more than a program, rather as a intentional evangelism spirit

  7. Build with a Developing TeamEvangelizing families will require professional training, as well as fluidity and flexibilityWhat are the pivotal needs of a Leadership TeamWhat are the critical needs of the community that your team needs to learn about? Are there measurable results?

  8. Build with an Attitude of PartnershipCommunity involvement is vital to sustaining a vibrant outreach to families Why do many communities never “buy-in” to a church ministry to families? This kind of evangelism requires more work, intentionality, workers, and cross-cultural dynamics

  9. Build with the Priority on Children and YouthWhy must the priority be consistently focused on children and youth?Priority is more than “Pulpit Talk”Single-parents and broken homes (even same-sex parent homes) must be planned for with unique creativity and goals

  10. Build with the Consistent and the SplashConsistent ministries that reach families in the community will have the greatest impact for the gospel if done on a daily basis Plan open-air or publicly seen events; include spectacular, fun-filled activities that are visible in the communityEvangelism can take place off the “church turf”

  11. Build with CelebrationCreate an atmosphere of significance around ALL members of the familyCelebratory evangelism is meaningful to non-churchgoing relatives and friends while paying off with huge and lasting dividends

  12. Build with Family GlueRegardless the age, every willing person must be trained and enlisted to reap the maximum benefit of family evangelismLimiting family ministry to only the young will short-circuit the holistic approach of this kind of evangelismPrayer, support-groups, inter-generational adoption, “No child left behind,” and ministries to singles and seniors help bring cohesion

  13. Special Needs Children – Evangelizing Families No One Is Reaching Where are the children with disabilities? The church is the perfect place for children with disabilities and their families. Where else can families find unconditional love, unconditional acceptance, and hope for tomorrow? Why are these families and their children not flooding our congregations each week?

  14. Evangelizing Is Not A 4-Letter Word Maybe you are trying to reach the “idealistic-looking family.” Does it exist?

  15. How are we to evangelize families?
