  1. Without Referring Back to Your Reading… Please try to list the 3-5 key points of the article that you identified. Then answer: • What do Roman naming customs reflect about the identify of Roman women. • Why did the Bacchic cults become so popular among some Roman women? • What does the existence of such heroines as Lucretia and Cornelia indicate about the behavior expected of Roman women?

  2. Next use the work you did while reading to… • Edit, revise, elaborate, clarify, etc. the answers that you just prepared from memory. • Then, assess your memory. Give yourself a 5 if you remembered everything that you had read and identified as key points and a 1 if you barely remembered anything. • Then work with a partner to create one list of 3-5 key points for the article. If you can’t find a partner turn in a copy of the 3-5 main points you previously identified.

  3. Reflect on your learning • Finally, on a half a sheet of paper please reflect on your reading practices and strategies. Consider the following questions to get you thinking, but feel free to include other details or thoughts as well. • What do you do when someone hands you something and tells you to read it to find the important parts? • What reading strategies do you use as you read? (highlighting, notetaking, writing questions, etc.) • Where do you complete your reading assignments? • When do you complete your reading assignments? • How often and when do you go back to your notes, annotations, etc.?
