  20. WRITING Much like Irving Berlin, I believe that there is no business like show business. I have always had dual passions for the arts and management. Growing up, I would cajole friends and threaten siblings into performing self-produced and self-directed ‘plays.’ When I first marched onstage in a local production of The Sound of Music at age ten, I was mesmerized by the atmosphere; observing the on- and off-stage action from the wings rather than playing in the green room with the other ‘von Trapps.’ As I pursued my undergraduate accounting degree and CPA license, my ultimate goal was to transition into arts administration. My business and accounting experience coupled with my passion for the arts make me an ideal candidate for the University of Oregon’s Arts and Administration program, specifically the Performing Arts concentration. I enjoy the creativity expressed through the arts while supporting and implementing efficient operations within an organization. I value collaborating with others and thrive in a team environment. I look forward to pursuing a degree and career in this field. …
