The maximum mark for the examination is 300 and the duration to complete the examination is 6 hours, which means 2 hours for each subject are allotted to the candidates. The interview round is conducted to test the candidate for their practical knowledge, presentation skills, introduction, intelligence, and psychological skills of the candidate. The interview round occurs for an individual only if he/she passes the theoretical examination. The parts/stages of the interview are as follows: Stage 1- O?cer Intelligence Rating (OIR) which is evaluated on the basis of intelligence and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP & DT). Stage 2- Interview, Group Testing O?cer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference. All these stages occur in the time span of 4 days on average. CDS Examination: Marking Scheme To avoid any mistakes in the perception of marks, one needs to be well aware of how many marks to expect according to what response they gave. According to the CDS exam Marking scheme, there will be negative markings for each wrongly marked answer by the candidate. For English and general knowledge, 0.83 marks will be given for each correct answer whereas in mathematics 1 mark will be awarded. If the answer is incorrect 0.33 marks will be deducted for each that is 1/3rd of the allotted marks. If any question is left unattempted no marks will be given or reduced.
