European Off Network – EON starting point • IGFT (Austrian Association of Independent Theatre) organized in 2005 a European meeting of persons working in the field of independent performing art in Austria • More than 250 participants from over thirty countries discussed general conditions, goals and visions of independent theatre companies in Europe • In the course of the meeting European Off Network was founded

  3. European Off Network – EON • Informal network of Independent Artists, Programmers and Cultural Organisations • Created to support the development of the independent sector

  4. European Off Network – EON primary aims • facilitate inter-cultural dialogue • provide opportunities to share professional practice • improve the conditions for collaborative work • exchange for independent companies and performing artists

  5. European Off Network – EON informal network - everybody in EON is responsible for the network • group achieves aims through - social and professional networking- peer support- sharing of information- collaboration - advocacy- meetings

  6. European Off Network – EON meetings & conferences • Two major conferences:- inaugural conference in St. Pölten in 2005- Brescia/Italy in 2007, as part of Ikos-Festival- additional planning- and sharing- events in other European countries
