  3. Group Activity Using the materials you have been given create a protective cover for your egg. The team who can drop their egg from the highest point without breaking it wins. Note: you have to be able to get the egg in/out of the protective cover!

DEBRIEF • How did it feel to be part of your group? • How do you think the other group might feel about your group? • What difference did your decisions / response make? • How did this activity impact on the well-being of the whole group? • How does this reflect the dynamics in the real world?

  5. ACTIVITY Causes and Consequences • Who are the people in this society who are discriminated against? (select one group). • What are the causes of exclusion and discrimination? • What are the consequences of exclusion and discrimination on the individual and wider community?

KEY LEARNING • When one group is excluded or discriminated against it affects the whole community. • For my group to flourish/thrive and lead a good life it requires that ALL groups are have their needs met (our communities are interconnected). • What is happening in other countries has an impact on our local communities (our world is interconnected). • In South Africa this is called uBuntu (My well-being is dependent on the well-being of everyone). uBuntu
