It’s important to faculty because… • Evaluation helps with course planning • Helps evaluate what works, what doesn’t work • Course adjustments can be made for future semesters • Career Development • Input goes into individual faculty annual reviews • Considered for tenure and promotion and salary

  4. It’s important to students because… • Your feedback can help faculty improve the course • Evaluations are posted and students can view by course or professor before enrolling in classes next semester • It’s your opportunity to help teachers understand student perspectives

  5. What happened to in-class evaluations? • UF is committed to its Green Initiative • Eliminated 336,000 scantrons per year and 17,750 9X12 envelopes • Staff formerly dedicated to processing evaluation forms can now focus on more pressing matters • Electronic data is more readily available for analysis and to show faculty successes • At the option of the professor, evaluations can still be done in-class using laptops and smartphones
