  2. Ideas: Pre-Writing Topic: you wake up one morning and find yourself in prison. You do not know why you are there, and no one will talk to you. Describe the experience. Main Idea: What is the main idea? To escape? To show how terrible prison can be? To show how prison can affect a person? To show how the character develops? Details: What are some interesting details that your will include? • The green slime growing on the walls? • The terrible smell that comes from having to use the washroom in the corner? • The horrible feeling of not knowing if you will ever get out? • The loneliness of spending hours without anyone to talk to?

  3. Ideas: Writing Pick one of the topics below for your write: • 1. Meat Freezer • You are just starting your first day working at a grocery store. Near the end of the day, you walk into a meat freezer, and the door locks behind you. No one hears your call for help, and the store is closing in 5 minutes. • 2.Last Person on Earth? • You wake up one morning and realize that everyone else has disappeared. A note warns you not to go outside because there is a deadly disease out there. • 3.Lottery • Walking down the street with a friend, you notice a piece of litter on the ground. You stoop to pick it up and realize it is actually a winning lottery ticket.
