  3. Three T’s Theme: The theme of the essay is the freedom of Africans. Marcus Gravey started the movement “Back to Africa” which was to support them and there freedom. Tone: The tone of the essay was very concerning. He exhibited grief in his words. Technique: Point of view, Mood, Tone

  4. Harlem Renaissances • Marcus Gravy and his organization, Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) was the largest movement in African American history. • The movement had a huge role in the Harlem Renaissances. It expanded the African American’s cultural ambiance.
