  10. SIMPLY ADD UP THE POST SEASON NUMBERS: In D72’s 4 seasons as a District, We have MORE Section 9 Championships than any other District in our Section. ******************* In 2009, CNLL SR’s went to the SR Western Regionals. In 2010 D72 advanced 4 out of 5 teams to Sub Division. In 2011 CNLL 9/10’s and WCLL JR’s advanced to Sub-Division. ****************** More and More Leagues are winning District, getting into Section 9 Sub-Division, and Division Tournaments. Western Region is getting closer and closer!! And you all know what comes next: World Series.

  11. EACH LEAGUE has more of a vested interest in this Districts Post Season tournament program than you may realize 2011 ALL STAR TOURNAMENT GAMES, Corona National LL participated in over 23 games West Corona LL participated in over 20 games while BOTH having teams advance into Division III Sub-Division. ********* EVLL, NLL, JALL, JNLL, WCLL, CNLL & CALL all have had teams in Dist All-Star Championship games and in Section 9 games in either SB or BB, during our first 4 seasons as a District.

  15. REVAMPING and ADVANCING our Post Season Umpiring is well underway. Here is what your DISTRICT is doing to provide each of your leagues and each of your teams with the finest quality umpiring .

  16. This is what your District is doing to improve your season and your post season tournaments: *Discounted TOC fees for leagues sending Board Members to Regional training. *All-Star hosting privileges to Leagues who sent the most Board Members to this clinic. *Incentives for umpires attending WR Clinics. *Continued development of pre-season clinics. *4 Man Regular season crews/partnership with Districts 43, 55 and 68. *Enhanced Majors TOC Tournament. *Introduction of the “District 72 Tournament Umpire” and priority of selection of post season games. *One of the MOST generous of awards luncheons of any District.

  17. BOARD MEMBERS, MANAGERS AND UMPIRES DO NOTHAVE TENURE THERE IS NO TENURE IN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL. PERHAPS IT IS TIME IN SOME OF YOUR LEAGUES TO “SHOW THE DOOR” to certain Board Members, Managers, Coaches AND Umpires, who just do not “get it.”

  18. IF YOU CANNOT CONTROL YOURSELF AS A POSITIVE AND RESPONSIBLE ROLE MODLE WITHIN YOUR LITTLE LEAGUE…… Then please find another program to volunteer /spend your time.

  19. EVERYONE HERE TODAYand those in your leagues have a chance to make an impact in a child’s life this season:

  20. BE A MENTORTEACH YOUR PLAYERS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY.

  21. CHILD DEVELOPMENT The positive energy and effort you give to these kids says much about you, and will say much to them. What do these kids see, every time they play a game or come to practice? “THEY SEE EVERYTHING”

  22. SO HERE WE GO

  23. THERE ARE MANY MYTHSIN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL YOU ONLY THINK I AM REAL!!!

  24. How many batters can a pitcher hit with the ball before he must be pulled? 0 1 2 3 8 5 4 20 ??? 6

  25. Rule 7.08(c & j)“THE BATTER-RUNNER MUST TURN TO HIS RIGHT AFTER OVER RUNNING FIRST BASE”

  26. Rule 7.08(c & j)“THE BATTER-RUNNER MUST TURN TO HIS RIGHT AFTER OVER RUNNING FIRST BASE” The batter-runner may turn left or right, provided that if he turns left he does not make an attempt to advance. An attempt is a judgment made by the umpire. The requirement is that the runner must immediately return to first after over running or over sliding the base. There are no exceptions as to how the BR obtained first base (hit, walk, error, or dropped third strike).

  27. Rule 2.00 STRIKE“IF A BATTER BREAKS HIS WRISTS WHEN SWINGING, IT IS A STRIKE”

  28. Rule 2.00 STRIKE“IF A BATTER BREAKS HIS WRISTS WHEN SWINGING, IT IS A STRIKE” A strike is a judgment call by the umpire as to whether the batter attempted to strike the ball. Breaking the wrists, or the barrel of the bat crossing the plate are simply guides to making the judgment of the attempt; these are not rules.

  29. “IF A BATTED BALL HITS THE PLATE FIRST IT’S A FOUL BALL.

  30. IF A BATTED BALL HITS THE PLATE FIRST IT’S A FOUL BALL. The plate is in FAIR territory. There is nothing special about it. If a batted ball hits it, it is treated like any other batted ball.

  31. Rule 2.00 INTERFERENCE, 6.06(c)“THE BATTER CANNOT BE CALLED OUT FOR INTERFERENCE IF HE IS IN THE BATTER’S BOX”.

  32. Rule 2.00 INTERFERENCE, 6.06(c)“THE BATTER CANNOT BE CALLED OUT FOR INTERFERENCE IF HE IS IN THE BATTER’S BOX”. The batters box is not a safety zone. A batter can be called out for interference if the umpire judges that interference could of or should have been avoided.

  33. “LEGAL or ILLEGAL ?”

  34. BAKERY DONUT vs. BATTING DONUT LEGAL: IN ALL DIVISIONS OF LITTLE LEAGUE ILLEGAL: IN ALL DIVISIONS OF LITTLE LEAGUE (even in BIG LEAGUE!!)

  35. It is only the job of the UMPIREto remove a batting donut THAT’S A MYTH - Rule 1.01 – Note 1 THAT’S A HUGE MYTH It is the job of ANYONE and EVERYONE to alert any league official to remove a donut, without any hesitation.

  36. LEGAL OR ILLEGAL FOR AN UMPIRE and or a MANAGERTO WEAR SPIKE CLEATS?

  37. BOTH ILLEGAL IN ALL OF LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL and SOFTBALL. Rule 9.06 -Umpire Rule 1.00 (I) -- Manager

  38. Rule 2.00 FOUL TIP & STRIKE “THE BALL IS DEAD ON FOUL TIP”

  39. Rule 2.00 FOUL TIP & STRIKE “THE BALL IS DEAD ON FOUL TIP” There is nothing foul about a foul tip. If the ball nicks the bat and goes sharp and direct to the catcher’s hand or glove and is caught, this is foul tip by definition. A foul tip is a STRIKE and the ball is alive and in play. (it is the same as a swing and a miss)

  40. Rule 6.06(b)THE BATTER MAY NOT SWITCH BATTER’S BOXES AFTER TWO STRIKES.

  44. Rule 6.07 (b, 1)“THE BATTER WHO BATTED OUT OF ORDER IS THE PERSON DECLARED OUT” PROPER IMPROPER Legalized

  45. Rule 6.07 (b, 1)“THE BATTER WHO BATTED OUT OF ORDER IS THE PERSON DECLARED OUT” The PROPER batter is the one always called out. Any hit or advance made by the batter or the runners due to a hit, walk or error or other reason is nullified. The next batter, is the one who follows the proper batter who was called out.

  46. Rule 2.00 STRIKE“IF THE BATTER DOES NOT PULL THE BAT OUT OF THE STRIKE ZONEWHILE IN A BUNTING POSITION, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC STRIKE”.

  47. Rule 2.00 STRIKE“IF THE BATTER DOES NOT PULL THE BAT OUT OF THE STRIKE ZONEWHILE IN A BUNTING POSITION, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC STRIKE”. A strike is an attempt to hit the ball. Simply holding the bat over the plate is not an attempt. This is umpire judgment. – Baseball only SOFTBALL: It is a STRIKE!!
