RISK FOR BABIES • Low birth weight babies are more likely to have organs that are not fully developed, which can result in complications, such as bleeding in the brain, respiratory distress syndrome, and intestinal problems. • Teens are more likely to have poor eating habits. • Also teens are more likely to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, or take drugs during pregnancy, which can cause health problems for the baby.

  11. RISK FOR BABIES • children born to teenage mothers are more likely to experience social, emotional, and other problems. These problems may include the following: • Children born to teenage mothers are less likely to receive proper nutrition, health care, and cognitive and social stimulation. As a result, they are at risk for lower academic achievement. • Children born to teenage mothers are at increased risk for abuse and neglect. • Boys born to teenage mothers are 13% more likely to be in prison later in life. • Girls born to teenage mothers are 22% more likely to become teenage mothers themselves.

  12. SEXUAL ABUSE AND RAPE • Between 43% and 62% of teens confess of being rape. • Two thirds reported that there father of the babies are as old 27 years old. • 5% of teens birth are result of rape.

Why should teen pregnancy concern everyone? • Teen pregnancy cost tax payers 1.9billions each yeas. • More than 2/3 of all teens will not graduate from high school. • 5% of teens mom have a collage degree • Children have more ricks for example low birth weight, are more likely to performed poorly in school. • About 80% of unmarried teens will end up in welfare. • 22% of girls with teen mom will be more likely to be a teen them self. • 13% of boys would be more likely to end up in prison.
