  10. 電磁脈衝 • 電磁脈衝(EMP)是一種自然現象，其形式有多種。如：空中帶電雲層堆積至與地面間電場強度超過特定之臨界值，就會產生局部的空氣絕緣崩潰，造成瞬間大電流導通的路徑，而在路徑附近感應產生高強度的「雷電電磁脈衝」；太陽黑子活動劇烈時期，因太陽核爆所引起的「核爆電磁脈衝」。 • 1940s年代，科學家們在高空進行核爆試驗時，發現人工核爆所造成的EMP能在極短時間內，以電磁波的形式將巨大能量由爆點傳至數百公里；同時在傳送過程中，會破壞電訊、電力、光電、微波、…等設施，而使各種指揮、管制與通信任務失效。
