  1. HOLLYFIELD SCHOOL ASSOCIATION (HSA) Welcome! Contacts Donna Lovegrove Chairperson Karen Wilks Gail Robertson Joint Secretaries e-mail - hollyfieldhsa@hotmail.com • Introduction • HSA Meeting Dates • Events • News • Easyfundraising • 200 Club

  2. Introduction What does the HSA do? What is the HSA money used for? The money raised by the HSA is used to provide things that our children would not otherwise have at school. The most recent HSA purchases include the new keyboard for the Music department, headphones for Modern Foreign Languages, refreshments for the Math's department at their extra revision sessions, among other donations. We endeavor that each subject department benefits from the money raised. Can I get involved? The answer, ‘Yes Please’! The HSA is always looking for new members, new ideas and new helpers. If you would like to get involved in planning HSA events and making decisions about spending the money the HSA raises you can do so by joining the HSA Team, simply by attending the team meetings. Everyone is welcome at the HSA meetings. You do not have to attend every meeting to make a difference. It is entirely up to you how much you wish to be involved. If you are not able to attend the HSA meetings, you can still get involved. The HSA team needs the help and support of as many parents as possible at the events they organise. The more helpers the HSA has, the more money we can raise for our children and the school.  • The HSA organises a number of events and activities throughout the school year, ranging from the annual quiz night, supporting International Week, Year 7 disco, and regular support at parent open evenings. The main aim of HSA events is to raise as much extra money as possible for the school. • HSA aim is to encourage closer links between parents, students and staff and in making a valuable contribution to the social life of the school community by providing children, parents, carers and teachers with the opportunity to have fun together while raising money for the school. Getting involved in the HSA is a great way to meet other parents and carers and make new friends. • The HSA Team, which is elected at the PTA's AGM in mid November, holds two or three meetings a term in order to plan the year's events and to discuss how best to spend the money raised. You do not have to be a member to attend these meetings. All parents, carers and teachers are invited to attend. You will receive regular flyers about forthcoming HSA events via parent-mail.
