  4. IMPORTANT ROAD RULES New Zealand is a left hand drive country. All distances are posted in kilometres (km) The speed limit is 100km/65 miles per hour on the open road and 50km/30 miles per hour in built up areas.

  5. DRIVING CONDITIONS Don’t underestimate driving times when planning your clients trip. Allow plenty of time to get between places. Check for recommended driving times and themed highways on the Travel Trade Website.

  6. SELF DRIVE Driving is a popular way to explore New Zealand. It gives visitors the flexibility to follow their desires, or the advice of someone they meet along the way.

  7. AIR Flying by helicopter or light plane is a great way to gain access to areas of exceptional beauty in New Zealand such as extinct volcanoes, glaciers and mountain tops.
