  2. It’s Terry Fox Run day…. walk, run, jog or bike to raise funds for cancer research

  3. The Ontario Chapter of the Kowloon Wah Yan College Alumni was up early to participate in the Run to support the good cause

  4. The walk was in Unionville, Markham

  5. …..a preserved historical town in the city

  6. ……around the Toogood Pond

  7. … up 16th Avenue

  8. … and down again

  9. The scenery was very refreshing along the way

  10. Terry Fox, with cancer in his bones, tried to walk across Canada from the east coast to the west, on his left leg, in 1980 with the hope of raising funds for cancer research. But his illness failed him and he passed away when he reached Thunder Bay, Ontario. He died at the age of 22. The Terry Fox Foundation was set up in memory of him. Every year, a Terry Fox Run is held across Canada and in some other parts of the world, to raise funds for cancer research. The Ontario Chapter of the Wah Yan Kowloon College Alumni walked the full length of 10 Km on this Terry Fox Run day of 2009. As members of the alumni, we would like to pledge for your support of our walk….to raise more funds to conduct cancer research.
