3. Inpatient Services- Freestanding Evaluation & Treatment Centers • Run by Compass Health – Sedro Woolley and Mukilteo • Not a hospital • Primarily ITA

4. Inpatient Services – Certification and Authorization • Function delegated to Volunteers of America (VOA) • Determine medical necessity for voluntary hospitalizations • Issue authorizations for voluntary and involuntary hospitalizations • VOA will notify outpatient clinician of admission

5. Inpatient Services - Requests • Requests by providers for voluntary hospitalization: • Assessment of consumer within 24 hours of request • Less restrictive alternatives attempted or not appropriate • Contact hospital to request placement • Request for certification/authorization by hospital to VOA

6. Inpatient Services • Contact hospital within 3 working days of admit • Contact with consumer if stay is longer than 7 days • Attempt medication consultation • Outpatient follow-up appointment within 7 calendar days of discharge • Follow-up psychiatric appointment within 7 working days
