  3. Jean is waiting for the audition to begin for their music show at school.

  4. Jean became worried when Aldo came in with his cello. They both play cello and there is only room for one.

  5. Miss Small, the music teacher, called Aldo to be the first student to audition for the show.

  6. During his audition, Aldo’s string breaks on his cello while he is playing.

  7. Aldo did not have a spare string. Jean was happy at first but then wondered who would be the better cellist for the show.

  8. Jean thinks of the show and lends Aldo her cello so he can complete his audition.

  9. Summary In “The Audition”, Jean lends Aldo her cello during the audition for their school music show when his string breaks on his cello. Jean puts aside her feelings because she wants to do what is right for the show.
