Dear Parents/ Guardians/ Dog Lovers, Hua Mao MEA International Year 3 Class 2011-2012 (Ready for More) is proud to present to you a play, adapted from a world renowned Chinese Yue Opera called Liang Shan Bo and Zhu Ying Tai, on 25th of May, 2012. Liang Shan Bo and Zhu Ying Tai, or more popularly known in the West as The Butterfly Lovers or Liang Zhu, was chosen because some historians have claimed that the beautiful legend happened in Yin Zhou, Ningbo, right where we are now. We hope to, through ticket sales and other events, raise fund for Ningbo Ai Meng Dog Shelter & Rescue, a local non-profit organization which currently accommodates over 350 abandoned, mistreated, malnourished and homeless dogs. Not only the Year 3 students are involved in this play, we have also invited students from other classes, our talented teachers and some guests to help us make it an excellent show. After the show, parents and audiences can then move on to Hua Mao Art Gallery, a state of the art building designed by 2012 Pritzker Prize winner Wang Shu, to participate in our annual Art & Photography Exhibition. We would appreciate if you could attend this show. We would also appreciate if you could come along with friends and family to help us raise more fund for Ningbo Ai Meng Dog Shelter & Rescue. As of May 2012, it is home to over 350 homeless, malnourished, handicapped, abandoned or mistreated dogs and it spends more than RMB 300 000 a year on dogs food, medical care, labor costs, maintenance and others.
