  2. About Us Our Mission. The Arc of Virginia promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes. Our Vision. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valued as classmates, coworkers, neighbors, citizens and friends.

About Us • We promote self-advocacy • We ensure self-advocates have a seat at the table whenever policy is discussed • We help to shape solutions to resolve problems in Virginia’s ID and DD services systems • State chapter of The Arc of the United States • Comprised of 24 local chapters from across the Commonwealth
