  2. Where they lived The Mojave called themselves the pipa Aha Macav pipa Aha Macav means People who live along the river.

  3. Homes The Mojave lived in two types of homes. During the hot summerthey slept under open-side bushes shelters, but in the winter the Mojave lived in homes with walls.

  4. Religious Beliefs The Mojave belived breams were powerful. People gather to hear and interet dreams. They had a head chief that led each band. Each cluster of families also had a chiefs and a sub chief whom the people respect.

  5. Crafts and games The Mojave created useful crafts. Such as pottery and baskets had many every day uses. For example, pots and baskets could hold water and store food. Besides storing food pots had other uses. Some times the Mojave used pots to float small children across the river.

  6. Society Mojave society was divided in two band. The northern band lived in the Mojave valley, along the Colorado river. The southern band also lived along the Colorado river but south of Chemehuevi valley.

  7. Society Each Mojave band divided into smaller cluster of extended families.These clusters each lived in separate settlements. However the Mojave band quickly united when they needed to protect their people and land.
