Purpose. The following presentation will introduce and explain the new Credit Recovery Program at the North Schuylkill School District. Parents will have the opportunity to learn about the program and decide if it is right for their child.

  1. Purpose • The following presentation will introduce and explain the new Credit Recovery Program at the North Schuylkill School District. • Parents will have the opportunity to learn about the program and decide if it is right for their child. • Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions and get involved in the learning process of their child.

  2. Summer Credit Recovery Program North Schuylkill Jr/Sr High School

What Is the Program? • Credit Recovery is a summer school program for all qualifying North Schuylkill Jr/SrStudents. • The program is a combination of teacher instruction and online course work provided by Blendedschools.net. • The program will match the curriculum of the North Schuylkill School District.

  4. Who Will Attend? The Credit Recovery program is offered to: • North Schuylkill School District Students • Grades 7-12 • Subjects: Science, Math, Social Studies, English • Students must have failed a core subject with a 50% or higher in order to qualify for the program.

  5. When Is the Program? • Week 1: June 21-25. All days are required. • Week 2: June 28-July 1. Students will attend days according to the curriculum which they must follow as set up by the facilitator. • Week 3: July 5-8. Students will attend days according to the curriculum which they must follow as set up by the facilitator. • Week 4: July 12-15. Students will attend days according to the curriculum which they must follow as set up by the facilitator.

  6. When is the Program? • There will be two sessions that the students can attend. • Session 1 8:00 am -10:00 am • Session 2 10:30am-12:30 pm

  7. Where is the Program? • Students will report to the North Schuylkill High School to attend the Credit Recovery Program. • Once they arrive on the first day June 21st, they will be assigned to their teachers and individual classrooms.

  8. What Does it Cost? • The program cost is $100 per class/per session. • Example: If a student attends a social studies class in session 1 and a science class in session 2, they will owe $200.

  9. Procedures & Regulations • The program will follow the rules of the North Schuylkill School District which can be found in the Student Handbook. • Students will be given a syllabus by their instructor for class procedures. • The courses will be Pass/Fail in accordance with the North Schuylkill School Districts grading policy.

  10. How to Apply • Registration deadline is June 14, 2010. • Payment must be made at registration. • Checks can be made to North Schuylkill High School • Note: There will be no refunds once confirmation is sent • Students must have their registration confirmation for admission to classes.

  11. Why This Program? • The North Schuylkill Credit Recovery Program offers students an opportunity to earn credits for courses that they have failed opposed to other programs that offer credits for non failed course. • The program is cost effective due to less travel time by parents and students. • Excellent opportunity for students to be successful.
