  2. A story has 3 sections: beginning, middle and ending. Look at these pictures and write a story. Which picture shows the beginning? Beginning buy go to ? not enough money

  3. Which picture shows the middle? Beginning Middle buy go to Middle ? not enough money

  4. Which picture shows the ending? Beginning Middle buy go to Middle Ending ? not enough money

  5. What can you write about in each section? You can use 5W1H questions to help you. Middle Beginning buy go to Ending Middle ? not enough money

  6. 5W1H questions When When does the story take place? Who Who is in the story? What What happens? Where Where are the people? Why Why do they do this? How How do they feel?

  7. Think of some 5W1H questions for the beginning. Now, can you think of the answers to these questions? When Who What Where Why How When does the story take place? Saturday Who is in the story? May and Tom What do they want to do? buy a present buy Why do they want to do it? Because it is David’s birthday.

  8. Do the same thing for the middle. When Who What Where Why How Where do they go? a toy shop What does the girl ask? How much is the toy car? go to What does the shopkeeper say? It’s fifty-five dollars. What does the boy say? not enough money We don’t have enough money.

  9. Now, think of an ending for the story. Can you think of a solution to the problem? What is the problem in the story? May and Tom only have fifty dollars. When Who What Where Why How What happens? May and Tom buy a robot. It is fifty dollars. ? What happens next? They give it to David. How does David feel? David is very happy.

  10. Great! Now you can use your answers to the 5W1H questions to write the story.

  11. It is Saturday. May and Tom want to buy David a present because it is David’s birthday. They go to a toy shop. They want to buy a toy car. May asks, ‘How much is the toy car?’ The shopkeeper says, ‘It’s fifty-five dollars.’ Tom says, ‘Oh dear! We don’t have enough money. We have fifty dollars only.’ May and Tom buy a robot. It is fifty dollars. They give it to David. David likes it. He is very happy. Link the answers using words like because. Also add more information if you can.
