  5. Article 8 of theIrishcondition (Bunreacht na hÈireann) of 1973 includes that Irish (duly to the gaelic branch of the celtic language) is "national language" and "first office language". English is in contrast to this only as "the second office language" established. Even if in the year 1981 about 31.6% of the Irish inhabitants said they could talk Irish- Gaelic we can say that only about 10000 of the Irish are using it as their main language. In 1945 and 1947 the Irish letters were reformed.
