  2. Summary Age at offense: 14 years old Victim: Jason Neagle Date of offense: May 2009 Location: Caldwell, Idaho Charges: Murder I Disposition: Guilty, plead to voluntary manslaughter Sentence: 7 to 30 years Current status: Caldwell Juvenile Detention Center

Information • First booked at Canyon County Jail, then transferred to Caldwell Juvenile Detention Center • Zachary was charged as an adult with murder of the first degree • Idaho state law requires minors 14 or older to be tried as adults if charged with first degree murder • He is serving 7 years in the Juvenile Correction system then he will appear in front of a judge to see if he free on probation or goes to prison • His family and living setting affected his behavior and his crime • Bond: 300,000

  4. Information Con’t Zach’s story had been told on Primetime News Programs across the nation. He had killed his father to protect his brother and sister from facing the sexual abuse he had experienced. His mother also experienced mental health problems which might have affected his behaviors. • John Bujak is the Prosecutor for Canyon County • Bradley S. ford is the Judge of this case • Chuck Peterson is the Defense Attorney

Journal • First step I took was searching internet sources • I called Caldwell Juvenile Detention center • Via Facebook, a message was sent to Zachary’s mother for an interview which there was no response • I traveled to the Court House in Caldwell to receive his public records • After obtaining records, I sent a letter to Bradley S. Ford in regards to the case • Case number: CR-2009-0017005-C
