  5. Why the Noahic Covenant? “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His spirit.

  6. And the Lord said, ‘I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.’”Genesis 6:5-7

  8. Noahic Covenant • Initiated by God (Genesis 6:18) • Made with Noah and all successive generations (Genesis 9:12) • Universal (Genesis 9: 9,10) • Unconditional • God promised never again to destroy the earth by a flood (Genesis 9:15) • Sign of the covenant is rainbow (Genesis 9:13-15)
