Activities Completed Benin National Preparatory Meeting :Cotonou 17 and 18 May 2004 First Annual Project Workshop and training :Cotonou 11-15 October 2004 Finalization of Benin action plan:20-23 October 2004 Design of approach and PRA tools:25-29 October 2004 Collection of secondary data:2-15 November 2004 Acquisition of details maps of Benin Pre-testing of some of the survey materials previously elaborated. This activity was undertaken in two randomly chosen villages: Bokpa in Toffo and Miniffi in Dassa Addis-Ababa, 13-17 September 2005, ILRI/BMZ

  5. 2. Activities Completed Informal Participatory Rapid Appraisal, analysis of the data collected and report writing. A total of 8 villages were surveyed in Toffo and Dassa, the two research locations. ToR elaborated for enumerators’ recruitment Translation of guides and questionnaires into French Contact with local authorities in selected communities Meetings with selected communities Results validation of the in-depth participatory surveys Development of CBM frameworks (in due course) Addis-Ababa, 13-17 September 2005, ILRI/BMZ

Achievements • ·National workshop organised (June13-14, 2005) • ·Management committees are set-up in the four sites, and contracts are being elaborated in the four communities • ·Identified enumerators have been trained for chicken and goat flocks monitoring and for market survey • Five members of communities was trained for that purpose. • Six surveyors including two members of communities (one from each agro-ecological zone) was trained to run market survey.
