  2. It is the fifth largest car company in the world with car numbers taken into consideration. The Ford Motor Company is the world’s largest family-owned business. Since the time Henry Ford retired from his CEO position all subsequent CEO’s are direct relatives.

  3. The GT40 which is the company’s famous race car won the Le Mans car race 4 times in succession. This is a 24 hour race. The GT40 is only 40 inches high and thus qualifies to be a race car. It is one of the world’s most well- known race cars. Henry Ford was the inventor of the assembly line concept in car manufacturing. This method of assembly is the way most cars are built today. He is said to have got the idea from looking at a pig-slaughtering line.

  4. Ford purchased the Lincoln Motor Company in 1925 and is the company’s luxury car line. This line is the company’s luxury line and is popular for the “Town car”. The company opened its first overseas factory in Manchester England, in 1911. The company also went by the name of Ford of Britain. The oval blue Ford label badge was introduced for the first time in 1907 and is synonymous with the brand. The very first car that Ford released was the Model A but the Model T became the company’s real success story. 10
