  3. Building Opening • Established safety procedures (fire, tornado, lock down, and lock out) • Use of Raptor software to screen visitors to the building • Grouped all students and teachers into Academies and established career pathways

  4. School Safety • 7 “hits” on our entry system Raptor • Suspension numbers for the year • 1,674 behavior referrals • 874 students received one or more referral

  5. First implementation of SBS • Vanguard training • 25 teachers trained SY 2009-10 and SY 2010-11 • All remaining teachers commencing training for next year • Implementation of instructional rounds • Achievement • ___students moved up a level • Educate level reporter results next page • Student leadership • Presentation by students

Student leadership • Code of Conduct aligned to Personal Social Standards and creation of student rubrics through advisory classes • Shared vision posters throughout building • Advisory curriculum based upon the Personal Social Standards • Students were on this committee summer 2010 Student Leadership Summit May 6, 2011

  8. Career Academies • Visual and Performing Arts • Host CHSAA Vocal Jazz Competition • Host IB Art Show • Host CHSAA Ensemble Festival • Ballet Noveau Cooperative Dance Programme • Romero Troupe Theatre Program Workshops

  9. Career Academies • Global Business • Inter-disciplinary unit planning such as the Millionaire Unit • Development of new courses in Network Admin Support, Personal Computer Maintenance and Video Game Design

Career Academies • Architecture, Construction and Engineering • Concurrent enrollment at Front Range Community College include Auto Tech (FRCC) and Horticulture program (FRCC) • Project Lead the Way courses in pre-engineering. Fulfillment of this four year program at WHS results an automatic acceptance at Colorado School of Mines

  11. Career Academies • Liberal Arts • Habitat for Humanity service learning trip • Expanded IB course offerings including IB Music, IB Business Management, and IB Environmental Systems

Career Academies • Health and Biomedical • Project Lead the Way courses in Biomedical Sciences • Concurrent enrollment at Front Range Community College include First Responders (FRCC), Pharmacy Tech (FRCC) • Health Studies program at WHS prepares students for the Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) licensure test

Academic Progress • CSAP • Data Team process led to targeted instruction • 98.9% completion rate • Accuplacer • 42 out of 48 Sophomores and Juniors qualified for one or more concurrent enrollment programs at Front Range Community College • Honor Roll recognition events for traditional and SBS students

  14. WHS Building Wide • AP Courses in Chemistry, Biology, US History, Art History and English • Eight CU Succeeds courses offered in Math, Language Arts and Science
