The Burnt Offering Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God

The Purpose of the Burnt Offering • Dedication meaning “that which ascends” • First of 5 offerings (Meal, sin, trespassing, and peace offerings) Whole offering burnt, not partially • The Process of Burnt Offering • Bullock, sheep, or dove depending on Economic status Lev. 1:2, 14 Without blemish Lev. 1:3 Give the best • At the door or gate near the brazen altar Lev. 1: 3 • His Voluntary will Lev. 1:3 • Putting his hand on the head of the burnt offering • The offerer kills the offering himself, not the priest Lev. 1:5
