The Administrative Clerk/Program Recruiter position involves planning, coordinating, organizing, managing and completing administrative tasks related to program activities along with being responsible for recruitment of participantsintotheprogram.WillworkcloselywiththeProgramCoordinatortoensure thatprogramactivitiesoccurinatimelyandeffectivemanner.Employmentisdependent uponthecontinuationoftheSpecialDiabetesProgramsforIndians(SDPI)grantfunding. WorksunderthedirectsupervisionoftheSDPIGrantDirectorinplanningandcarrying out administrativeduties. • ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESincludethefollowing.Otherduties maybe assigned. • Regular and Consistent Attendance • AssisttheProgramCoordinatorintheday-to-dayoperationsoftheSDPIHealthy Heart Program. • Contact, recruit, assist and provideinformation to eligiblepatients. • Develop and distribute program information through flyers, newsletters, public service announcements, email and etc... to increase community awareness, participation, and retention ofindividuals in program activities. • Assistindatacollectionanddataentryofinformationfromdiabetescommunity awarenessactivitiesandscreenings,aiddietitianincompleting3-daydietrecalls and otherprogram orgrant activities. • Maintainproject/activityfilesbyrecordingdatainasystematicprocessutilizing RPMS to collect that data. • ProvideideasandperformactivitiesasdescribedbytheSDPIgrantapplication work plan, recordand maintain meeting minutes. • Assist Program Director in preparing: 1) monthly program reports, and 2) quarterlystatusreportstobesubmittedtothePoncaSDPIprogramand/orGrants Management Office. Maintain incoming telephone log and direct patient calls to appropriate departments within the Diabetes Program, Health Clinic, Wellness Center and Tribal Office. • Maintain open communication with Diabetes Program staff, other tribal departmental staff andcontacts outsidetheprogram. • Follow the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Employee Handbook guidelines, and policiesandproceduresadheredtobytheTribalClinicstaffregardingpersonnel and programmaticissues. • Maintainstrictconfidentiality followingHIPPA regulationsregardingpatientcare and programmatic issues, as well as adhere to the Tribe’s computer policy set forth by I.H.S. • Isresponsibleto uphold all aspects ofthis position description. • Willingto do otherduties as assigned. • QUALIFICATIONS • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. Therequirementslistedbelowarerepresentativeoftheknowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform theessential functions. • High School degreeorGED equivalent, prefer experiencein ahealth carefield. • Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher and Access) with strong typing skills. KnowledgeofRPMS preferred. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must haveaprofessionalphonemanner. • Should be personable with strong ability to interact with multi-generational clientele. • Must beorganized, havegood attention to detail, and be reliable. • Valid South Dakota driver’s license and able to be insured by the Flandreau SanteeSioux Tribe’s auto insurancepolicy. • CRP and First Aid Certified or abilityto obtain with 90 days. • Willingto travel in and out ofstate fortraining. • PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Thephysicaldemandsdescribedherearerepresentativeofthosethatmustbemetbyan employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
