  6. Attendance Please make sure that your child comes to school everyday on time! It is so important to their education! Remember it is an FCAT year! 

  7. CHAMPS • We’re using CHAMPS as a behavioral program school wide this year! • CHAMPS is a proactive and positive approach to classroom management. • At LRE we believe students should make good choices and accept consequences for their behavior.

School Policy Instructional time is very important for a successful year! • Breakfast starts at 8:10– Be on time! • First Bell rings at 8:35 • 5 tardies = 1 unexcused absence • Too many unexcused absences will result in loss of learning and possible truancy meeting • Send in a note on a separate piece of paper to excuse absences for illness or emergencies.

  10. Dress code/ Code of conduct • You will be receiving the code of conduct with the dress code inside. Please make sure to read over this with your child on Monday and return the portion of the packet that needs to be signed by Friday 08/26.

  11. How does your child get home? • Please make sure to fill out the transportation log before you leave this evening. • If there are changes to the way your child goes home, you MUST send a note to school or contact the office before 2:30pm in the afternoon (1:30 pm on Wednesday)

  12. Car drop off/pick up • Drop off: the middle of the car loop at the flagpole • Pick up: at the first stop in the car loop

  13. Arrival • Students may arrive at 8:10 • After the first week of school students may not be escorted to their classrooms by their parents.

  14. Do you want to volunteer in our classroom and field trips? • It will be my pleasure to have you as a volunteer in my class and/or field trips! • If you wish to become involved in our activities you need to complete a volunteer application. • Applications are to be completed electronically (http://volunteer.ocps.net) • Our computers are set up for you to complete the application. • Find one of the computers with the site open and complete it. If you need any support please let me know.

  16. PTA/SAC • Please sign up to be a member of PTA and SAC. • It is only a few hours a month and will impact your child’s education immensely!

  26. Additional information • Extended day – through YMCA • PE wavier form should be returned ASAP. This will help ensure that your child receives any supplemental interventions that they may need. • Students will be issued a planner and ID card. • If you will be picking up and dropping off your child, please remember to pick up a car tag.
