  9. Child Contact Interventions

  10. Background & Context Long-standing relationship with providers of child contact services. Moved from local contracting arrangements to a national approach. New contract structure aimed at securing consistently high quality provision which is responsive to individual families needs. Re focus on providing child contact intervention rather than supervised contact.

Child Contact Intervention • Contact interventions are: • Sessions with resistant resident parent in preparation for contact • Sessions with child to support contact session • Observed contact Also including • Sustaining contact • Indirect contact • Full social work contact assessment Bidders need to identify which of the service in the specification they are offering. They must offer observed contact as part of the core package.

  12. Price structure • National pricing structure, tender is competitive on the grounds of quality not price. • Changes in the NACCC requirements for supervised centres allows for delivery of sessions with one supervisor only.

  13. New requirements • Risk assessments for all cases to identify level of staffing resources needed. • Data handling in accordance with Government standards.

  15. Background & Context • Moving from grant to contract, providing clarification of requirements and quality standards. • Programme amended to respond to research & integrate with other Family Justice Services • Part of an increasing range and type of services.

  16. SPIP • Programme works best in groups of 6 to 8 participants with good gender balance. • When attendance is promoted, following attendance at court. • Lot structure offers fewer contracts with higher volume.

  17. Price Structure • Set price structure, tender evaluation will focus on quality. Not only in terms of the direct delivery of the programme but the organisations ability to deliver on the other areas of the contract.

  18. New requirements • Access to information resources during programme delivery. • The contract sets out not only the requirement to deliver high quality programmes. But also to have in place business systems which support delivery.

DVPP • Accredited and evidence based programmes which are subject to external quality audit • Approved programmes only, minimum 60 hours -Delivered in groups -1-1 work only delivered where group-work will not meet diversity needs • Suitability Assessment before starting programme • Must have integrated independent safety service • Must work collaboratively with other agencies
