What is CACSSF? • CACSSF = Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Student Services and Fees • Comprised of 9 students and 8 administrators/staff • Student Service Fee = $486 per semester per student • Makes recommendations to the Chancellor on how to allocate surplus student service fee money • Or to change existing allocations in the budget • Currently a surplus exists • CACSSF also has a discretionary pot of $500,000 per year that it allocates without Chancellor approval

What can you fund from CACSSF $? • Non-academic programs, events, capital improvements, personnel, etc. that support student wellbeing, student services, or sense of community at Cal • For more info check out http://budget.berkeley.edu/studentfees • Previous successful proposals include: • SPH Doctoral Lounge Renovations • GIGS Mentorship Stipends • Additional psychologist for Tang Center • GA Room Reservation Fund • Bike share program

  4. How to get CACSSF Money • Two rounds of proposals: • Fall Round: Short-term or one time proposals accepted from the CACSSF $500,000 discretionary pot – Due OCTOBER 14 • Funds allocated in January • Spring Round: Limited short-term (for 1-3) years and recurring funds are available – Due January 31st • Funds allocated in July • Any program, department, unit can apply through the GA Execs • If you have an idea, talk to us by Monday! • http://budget.berkeley.edu/studentfees/index.html
