  2. Cooling the Water • Why? • Current system’s biggest problem is not performance, but lack of compliance • Purified Water • Need • Cold drinking water • Desire • Compliance • Desire > Need

  3. Equipment Needed • Extech Datalogger • Measures and records water temperature. • USB Temperature and Humidity Logger • Measures and records ambient temperature and humidity • Scales • Measure the amount of water that is evaporated

  4. Basic Testing Procedure • Measure and record initial weight • Use Datalogger to record water temperature at specified time intervals • Use USB logger to obtain ambient temperature and humidity at specified time intervals • Add a known amount of water to the device to keep the evaporative medium saturated. • Measure and record final water temperature, and final weight.

  5. What to Test? • Control: basic bottle of water • Two designs tested • Zeer pot • Coolgardie safe • Four sets of each cooler will be made and used in tests • Each group member will conduct their own tests in different environments.
