  2. Supercilious (adj) Definition:haughtily disdainful or contemptuous, as a person or a facial expression. Example: She is the most supercilious enemy I have ever had.

  3. Vacuous (adj) Definition: empty, silly, or meaningless Example: The celebrity’s vacuous speech reflected poorly on his intelligence.

  4. Caterwauling (v) Definition: to utter long wailing cries Example: I wish you would stop your caterwauling and get to work!

  5. Discordant (adj) Definition: being at variance; disagreeing; Example: The discordant team couldn’t decide with play to do.

  6. punctilious(adj) Definition: Attentive to finer points of etiquette than normal Example: My punctilious mother is always criticizing my table manners.

  7. ineffable (adj) Definition:1. indescribable or unspeakable. 2. Not to be uttered, taboo Example: When I was in a car accident, I felt an ineffable pain in my back.

  8. Turgid (adj) Definition:1. Swollen or distended; bloated Example: After thanksgiving dinner many of us felt turgid, and couldn’t eat another bite.

  9. Florid (adj) Definition: Flushed with rosy color or flowery. Example: Her florid cheeks revealed that she had a crush on Beaux.

  10. Redolent (adj) Definition:1. Fragrant; aromatic 2. Suggestive; reminiscent Example: Her redolent perfume could be smelt from the other side of the room.

  11. amorphous (adj) Definition:1. Without a definite form; lacking a specific shape Example: The amorphous classroom proved hard to control.
