  1. OUR MISSION: To guide those far from God into the new start found in Jesus Christ.

  2. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 What’s important to us as Australians? Freedom Self Identity Mateship "The redemption principle at work: that is, if only we were all mates the sins of the world could be forgiven” “A relationship(s)... in which the good of one is the good of all.” “A fair go is the ultimate Australian ideal. At least that’s the belief. In reality the fair go works on a sliding scale - the more you have, the fairer the go you will get." The Meaning of Oz - The Age <http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2005/01/20/1106110882808.html>

  3. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 The Great Australian Dream

  4. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 The Great Australian Dream Security Deuteronomy 6:10-13 “When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you – a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant – then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.” Control Forgetting

  5. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 Christian heritage Economic System Adam Smith Wealth of Nations We forget “...be careful that you do not forget the Lord...”

  6. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 We forget because other people around us have forgotten to... Jeremiah 29:7 “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” We have trick ourselves into thinking that survival is the end game We look for messiahs in our midst and turn them into idols

  7. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 What happens when we meet someone who remembers? John 15:19 “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” We can have a strong reaction to a person who remembers We can do some pretty stupid things when we’ve forgotten so completely

  8. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 John 10:24 “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” John 10:25-33 “I have told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name testify to me; but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep.  My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me… The Father and I are one. “[They] took up stones again to stone him.  Jesus replied, ‘I have shown you many good works from the Father.  For which of these are you going to stone me?’ [They] answered, ‘It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you, but for blasphemy, because you, though only a human being, are making yourself God.”

  9. Deuteronomy 6:10-13 The religious authorities did not condemn Jesus for his ability to move and function in this world... Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” They condemned Jesus because he dared to remember They convicted him because he showed others how to remember We are not here to conquer this world by its own standards

  10. OUR MISSION: To guide those far from God into the new start found in Jesus Christ.
