  4. Keyboard Volume Poweron/off Mouse Navigation Wireless Switch

  5. Log In • User you normal User ID • (First initial Last name) • Password: mcs123 • Change your password • Ctrl+Alt+Del

  6. Overview of Computer Go to Windows 7 desktop

  7. Personal Files NOT To Be Backed Up • You MAY create a folder OUTSIDE of My Documents. • Files in this folder will NOT be backed up • Right click at the Desktop and select New/Folder

  8. Backing Up MY Files?? Laptop • Files NOT automatically backed up • Run Backup regularly – Click Laptop Icon • Do all of your work on your laptop Desktop • Any changes to files must be moved to laptop via USB memory stick

  9. Shut Down vs. Closing the Lid • Shut Down: • At end of the day • Leaving the building • Close the Lid • Transporting around the school • When not attended in school (Or Lock the Computer with Ctrl+Alt+Del, Lock Computer) • DO NOT Carry by the screen

  11. Wireless Away From School • Click on the Bar Strength (Yellow star) icon • Select the desired wireless network • Will need your home wireless password

  13. Standalone Mode • Log in as if you are at school • When you are not connected to the school network, you still have access to your files • Sync your laptop files with the server (H:) using the “Backup Data Files” in the Laptop icon

  14. Guidelines • Security • Installing software on your laptop • Must have a license • Backup data first. • If your laptop encounters a problem, and needs to be re-images, ALL software you installed will be lost • Support • Call Tech Services

  15. USB Memory Key • 4 Gigabyte • Use for file backups • Transporting files from one computer to another

  16. SmartBoard/Data Projector • Connect VGA cable from Data Projector • Fn + F7 to toggle through settings • OR Windows key (beside Alt key) + P and select Duplicate • Connect USB cable or dongle from SmartBoard
