  2. Background • Condit Elementary began as the first elementary school in Bellaire, Texas and was established in 1914. As a purely neighborhood K-5 elementary school, students who attend Condit live in close proximity to the school. Condit was consistently rated a TEA Exemplary School and under the new accountability system it Met State Standards with Academic Distinction earned in Reading/ELA.

Educational Programs • Gifted and Talented- (36%) Condit’s gifted and talented programs offers students more rigorous instruction allowing and allows students to go more in depth in their learning experiences. • English Language Learners-(24%) Condit’s ELL programs services students of multiple languages. Teachers differentiate instruction to facilitate the students as they acquire the English language. Monthly Spanish Parent meetings are hosted on Saturdays. • Special Education- Resource classes serve students who have been identified as needing additional support. Resource services are provided in a pull out and inclusion model with a special education teacher.

Educational Programs • Dyslexia Services- Dyslexia support services are provided by the campus interventionist and librarian in a one on one pull out model. • Advisory-Weekly lessons are taught for character building with the students. • Leader In Me- The students will learn the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and learn how to apply the habits to their everyday life. • After school programming- Spanish, Engineering, Name That Book, Odyssey of the Mind, Homework Club, Girls on the Run and Nutrition Classes. • Beginning in the 2015-2016 school year Condit will have it’s first dual language classroom.
