  1. Fire Drills: • Signal- long, loud buzzer • Students quickly, quietly and calmly stand up, push in their chair and form a line by the door, leaving all items at their desk. • The teacher retrieves her class roster and leads the students out the door and out of the building to their designated area (see map by classroom door). Room 110 walks down the hallway by the cafeteria and out to student lot. • Students do not talk while leaving or re-entering the building during a Fire Drill. • When the class reaches their designated area, the teacher calls roll and they wait for the signal to return to the classroom. Students remain with their teacher.

  6. Have you ever…… • Been inspired by a teacher while a friend thought he/she were boring? • Been uncomfortable at a party where others have a great time? • Wonder why people miss deadlines and are never organized?

  7. These are all personality types • Or, people’s preferred way of doing things!

Let’s try an experiment! • Stand up • Hold your arms as wide apart as you can. • Bring them together like you were clapping. • Clasp your hands together. • Which thumb is on top? • Do the same thing again but put the opposite thumb on top. • Does this feel weird? • Do it again with your favorite thumb on top. • If you repeated this many times, your favorite thumb would probably still end up on top. • This is our preferred way of acting.

  10. Personality Types • Sanguine (blood)– warm, lively temperament • Choleric (yellow bile)– Active temperament • Melancholy (black bile) – dark tempeament • Phlegmatic (phlegm) – slow temperament

  11. Benefits of a personality profile: • Identify your behavior style or personality type • Create situations that give you the best chance for success • Increase your understanding and appreciation of other personality types • Predict and minimize potential conflicts with others
