  2. How to Fix Google Chrome Profile Error? When some users try to launch Google Chrome on their PC, they receive the error “Profile Error Occurred.” Most impacted customers claim that they are required to re-login with their Google account every time they open the Chrome browser to get access to their saved tabs and other user preferences. The problem is also proven to occur when a user attempts to launch a new incognito mode window, but not when the user signs in with the same account on a different machine. Because of its ease of use, wide range of features, and handy extensions, Chrome is likely one of the most popular web browsers in Windows 11. However, users have recently reported receiving an odd error while attempting to open Google Chrome in regular or Incognito mode. It seems, whenever they are trying to open Chrome, an error message pops up saying “Profile Error Occurred “.

  3. What is the source of the Google Chrome Profile Error? We attempted to replicate the issue and reviewed multiple user reports to get to the bottom of this error message. Based on our findings, there are a few possible scenarios that will result in the appearance of the Google Chrome Profile error: • Local cache corruption — Most of the time, the problem is caused by one or more corrupted files saved locally in the cache folder. The Web Data and Local State files are cited by most people who have encountered this problem. If this is what’s causing the problem, you can fix it by deleting the local cache folder or the individual files. • Interference from third-party antivirus — The problem can also occur if you have an overprotective third-party antivirus. Affected customers have reported that removing the toolbar, which is a browser extension, or deleting the AVG toolbar’s system file has fixed the error in the past (avgtpx64.sys) If you’re having problems resolving this problem, this article will walk you through some troubleshooting procedures. Below is a list of tried-and-true solutions that other users in a similar circumstance have used to address their problems. The approaches are listed in order of efficiency and severity, so go through them in that order until you find a solution that works for your situation.

  4. Method 2: Remove any potential for third-party AV interference (if applicable) Because they don’t have the same permissions as the built-in solution, many third-party antivirus suites will install additional browser toolbars to assist protect you from online threats (Windows Defender). These toolbars are usually optional, but if you rushed through the antivirus installation, they may have been installed without your knowledge. The trouble with these is that they frequently cause issues, especially when you remove the antivirus that was previously protecting them. AVG Toolbar, an optional utility that gets installed by AVG Internet Security, has been identified as the perpetrator by other customers in a similar situation. Users say that the AVG Toolbar began to cause problems when they uninstalled the security package that had installed it in the first place. AVG Secure Search is another program linked to the Google Chrome Profile issue. Fortunately, most affected users were able to resolve the problem by uninstalling the optional tools and deleting the AVG Toolbar’s.sys file. Keep in mind that the problem could occur with a variety of third-party antivirus programs. If you’re using an external security solution, consider uninstalling it for the time being only to get it off the list of suspects.

  5. If you previously uninstalled the AVG suite and this scenario applies to you, make sure you remove any remaining optional tools by following the procedures below: • To open a Run box, press Windows key + R. Then, to open Programs and Features, type “appwiz.cpl” and click Enter. • Look for an entry named AVG Safeguard toolbar offered by AVG Technologies in the application list. Keep in mind that the name may vary depending on the version of AVG you have installed – it could be called AVG Secure Search or AVG Toolbar, for example. • Note: If you have a newer version of AVG, you will not be able to see it here because the toolbar will be deployed as a Chrome extension directly. In this case, skip to step 4 right away. • Uninstall AVG by right-clicking on the toolbar and selecting Uninstall, then following the on-screen prompts. • To get rid of the “Profile Problem Occurred” error, open Google Chrome and click OK. Then, in the top-right corner of the screen, click the settings icon and select More tools > Extensions. • Look for AVG Secure search or AVG toolbar in the list of installed extensions and uninstall it by clicking the Remove icon (or the Remove button on newer Chrome builds). • Finally, go to Windows > System32 > Drivers and delete avgtpx64.sys, which is the main system file that is responsible for AVG Toolbar. • Restart Google Chrome after removing all optional 3rd party security tools to determine if the “Profile Problem Occurred” error still occurs.

  6. (Method 3). Create a new Chrome user profile  Several afflicted users have reported that forcing the browser to establish a new profile at the next startup fixed the problem. Although some users have reported losing their bookmarks because of this procedure, this should not be the case if you have already backed up your Chrome data with your Google account. However, this procedure is frequently successful in resolving the “Profile Error Occurred” error, so here’s what you should do: • To launch the Run dialogue box, press Windows key + R. Type “% LOCALAPPDATA percent Google Chrome User Data” after that. Then click Enter to open the area where Google Chrome’s default profile is stored. • When you go there, check for a folder called Default, which is your Google Chrome’s default profile, as you might expect. By renaming it to Default-Bak, we may force the browser to build a new one. • Restart Google Chrome to force the creation of a new default folder. Log in with your Google account if the problem goes away to reclaim your bookmarks and other user settings. If this approach does not resolve the problem, proceed to the next procedure below. https://cloud-drive-customercare.com/profile-error-occurred/

  7. Method 4: Uninstall Chrome and clear the Chrome cache locally. After uninstalling the browser and the whole local cache folder associated with it, most afflicted customers were able to resolve the Google Chrome Profile problem. But don’t worry removing your browser’s local cache will not result in the loss of your user settings, bookmarks, or any other user data. Your data is safely kept on your Google account, and you’ll be able to access it again as soon as you log in. To fix the Google Chrome Profile problem, follow the steps following to uninstall Google Chrome and erase the associated cached folder: • Make sure Chrome is closed entirely (including the tray bar agent). • To open a Run command, use Windows key + R. Then, to enter the Programs and Features box, type “appwiz.cpl” and hit Enter. • Scroll down the application list to Chrome, right-click it, and select Uninstall. Then, to delete the browser from your system, follow the on-screen steps. • Restart your computer after you’ve deleted Google Chrome. • Open a new Run dialogue by hitting Windows key + R on the next start-up. Then, to open the Local folder linked with your active Microsoft account, type “% localappdata% ” and press Enter. • After that, open the Google folder, right-click on Chrome, and delete the entire directory, including all of its subfolders.

  8. After you’ve erased Chrome’s local data, you’ll need to reinstall it. To do so, use your default browser to go to this link (here) and download the most recent version available. • To finish the installation, open the programme you just downloaded and follow the on-screen prompts. • The “Profile Warning Occurred” error should no longer appear now that Google Chrome has been reinstalled. TIP: If none of the above methods have worked, we recommend talking to the google error support team. https://cloud-drive-customercare.com/profile-error-occurred/
