  1. Have you heard about these weird Indian laws India is considered the largest democracy in the world. It has a robust constitution along with a very well-established jurisdiction system. Not only does it provide equal rights to the citizens, but it also makes sure to protect them. However, even India has its fair share of weird laws. Yes, weird! We call them strange because some of these laws make no sense and can't fulfill the motive they have been made for. Some of them are unnecessary and add complications to the jurisdiction system. Even if you search for advocates near meand ask them about these laws, they will agree. So today, we will discuss such laws, and you can decide whether they are reasonable. Let's begin! Can't drink but can marry What are your views? If someone says that a person is capable enough to take responsibility for marriage but can't be responsible enough to drink. As per Indian laws, the minimum age to get married is 18 years, but you can't drink before you are 21. This varies as per the states also. For instance, Maharashtra has made the minimum drinking age 25 years. So either our constitution thinks that marriage is not a big responsibility, or they think drinking is a crucial task to execute. But however you see, it doesn't make sense.

  3. No home delivery service for alcohol So as per the laws of Maharashtra state, you can't opt for a home delivery service for alcohol. It is completely prohibited, and there are guidelines for finding the offenders. Moreover, you can also go to prison. However, you can deliver your wine or beer home if you order it from a supermarket or eCommerce. So does it make sense to you? Because it doesn't make sense to us, at least. Attempting suicide is illegal, but you can do it legally So our Indian constitution has declared attempting suicide illegal. This means if you get caught in the act of doing it, then you can get prison for it. However, if you succeed, it is no longer a crime. But of course, you won't be here to see the results. So apparently is saying that either Do you have beautiful teeth for becoming a motor vehicle inspector? Yes, you must have solid and bright teeth if you dream of becoming a motor vehicle inspector in Andhra Pradesh. You might find it very surprising and quite against body positivity, but there is a law. So do you think that it is a very relevant and essential skill for becoming a motor vehicle inspector or not?

  4. Adultery So we support women's empowerment completely. But what about double standards? Your government may not be giving very impressive verdicts on marital rape topics, but they are indeed defending women against adultery. As per our laws, a man can get jailed for executing adultery. However, there is no such law against women, which creates a loophole to get away with as many affairs as they want. Conclusion These laws make several weird scenarios also when practiced in reality. However, we should not lose trust in the constitution as this respected book has given us the proud democracy we enjoy today. However, indeed there is scope for some improvement at least.
