Descriptive language • Descriptive language is used to help the reader feel almost as if they are a part of the scene or event being described. Description is useful because it helps readers engage with the world of the story, often creating an emotional response. It can help a reader visualize what a character or a place is like.
Listen to the segments of the conversation, then answer using descriptive language.
Work with a partner. Choose one of the pictures and describe it using descriptive details and adjectives.
Listen to the sentences from the conversation. Put a slash (/) at the end of each thought group.
