  1. The science of style In today’s lesson, we will read about how clothes affect our feelings about ourselves.

  2. Warm-up • How do you decide what clothes to wear to work, to school, and at home? • Do you think our clothes affect how people see us? Give reasons for your answer.

  3. Pre-reading • Look at the photo and read the caption on page 53. • What is the article about? a. How people choose the clothes they wear b. How people dress for their jobs c. How people’s clothes make them feel

  4. Look at the title of the passage and quickly read the first three paragraphs (pages 53–54). Then answer the questions below. • 1. What is paragraph 2 mostly about? a.
