Bengali literature is full of detective stories created by some of the best and most noted novelists of all times. Out of them Feluda and Byomkesh are the top choices of readers of all ages. The stories of Feluda and Byomkesh contain a nerve-wrenching feature which has won the hearts of the readers. Ekenbabu is another fictional character developed by Sujan Dasgupta. Apart from them, Goyenda Gargi is a famous character created by Tapan Bandopadhyay who has been shown as a young student solving criminal cases with her intelligence.

  1. One of the most famous Bengali fictional-detective characters created by Sharadindu Bandopadhyay is Byomkesh. Referring to himself as Satyanweshi( in search for truth) in the stories, Byomkesh is known for his logical and analytical skills and forensic science which he uses to solve complicated criminal cases. This compilation has a total of 32 stories which unfolds different aspects of Byomkesh’s character.

  2. When it comes to detective stories, Feluda is the prime choice among all Bengalis. This set of two books comprises 35 stories written by the noted Bengali film maker Satyajit Ray and is available at our bookshop which is the best online book store in Kolkata. Pradosh Chandra Mitra (Feluda), a private detective, is the main character in this series accompanied by Lalmohan Ganguly and Topshe. Feluda is a tall, handsome man who uses his incisive intellect, analytical skills, martial arts and keen power of observation to solve mysteries.

  3. Bhaduri Moshai is a fictional detective character created by the noted Bengali novelist Nirendrananth Chakraborty. He has been shown as a former CBI officer. His real name is Charu Chandra Bhaduri. After his retirement, he has been shown to solve mysteries privately. He even runs a private detective agency and loves to solve crossword puzzles.

  4. Ekenbabu or Mr Eken is a Bengali detective character created by author Sujan Dasgupta. The first story was published in the Bengali magazine Anandamela in 1991. He is a police detective who looks like a typical Bengali man. His real name is Ekendra Sen and has been portrayed as a bit eccentric and comical person taking snuffs. He likes to solve cases in his own style unlike, a typical investigator.

  5. Goyenda Gargi is a collection of Bengali detective stories written by Tapan Bandopadhyay. The author has written more than 30 stories in his compilation which is available at our Online College Street and is considered to be the best online book store in Kolkata. Her real name is Gargi Banerjee and is a student of Maths at the University of Calcutta. He takes up mysteries on account of pleasure and solves cases with her intellect.
