Acing the GMAT Focus Edition: Everything You Need to Know

To be admitted into one of the best B schools in the world, applicants must take the Graduate Management Admission Test, or GMAT. A lot of business schools use the GMAT score as a prerequisite for admission. This computer adaptive test has a time limit and is administered by the Graduate Management Admissions Council, or GMAC. There have been some modifications to the GMAT Exam since the release of the GMAT Focus Edition.

AcingtheGMATFocusEdition:EverythingYouNeedtoKnow TheGraduateManagementAdmissionTestorGMATisagloballyrecognizedtestthatstudents needtotaketogetadmittedintoatopBschool.Manybusinessschoolsrequirethescoreofthe GMATasapartoftheiradmissionsprocess.Itisatime-boundcomputeradaptivetestconducted bytheGraduateManagementAdmissionsCouncilorGMAC. WiththeintroductionoftheGMATFocusEdition,therearecertainchangesintheGMATExam Formatthatoneshouldknowbeforeappearingforthetest: Time:TheGMATFocusEditionisshorterwithatotaltimeof2hours15minutesand an optionalbreakof10minutes. Sections:Inplaceof4sections,thereare3sectionsintheGMATFocusEditionTest. TheyareVerbalReasoning,QuantitativeReasoning,andDataInsights.Thetesttakerhas theauthoritytoselectthesectionpreference. Evaluation:Unlikethepreviouspattern,thereisoneunifiedscorewhichrangesfrom 205-805andthescoringisbasedonthelevelsofdifficultyofeachquestionandnot merelyonhowmanyquestionsarecorrectontheGMAT exam.
