5. 5 Magistrates Court (Family Violence) Act 2004 To simplify access to the justice system for persons affected by family violence and promote the safety of those persons.
To increase the accountability of persons who have used violence against family members and encourage them to change their behaviour
To increase the protection of children exposed to family violence
